Rugged and Dependable Optical Instruments

The Raman spectrum of dry air below was obtained using an R3 and a Raptor Photonics Merlin EMCCD Camera with the sensor set at -19 deg C.  The Raman signal was collected using a custom-made fiber optic probe which had qnty 33 x 60 micron core optical fiber Raman probe arranged in a slit configuration surrounding a central excitation fiber with 450 mW of 532 nm laser excitation provided by a low-cost DPSS laser.  The exposure was for 50 seconds.  The spectrum below is the vertically-binned data from the image.
